Why Your Score Rank Stays at C or D
Rhythm
Clear ability and score rank are different problems. Diagnose whether you need rhythm practice, team upgrades, or both.

A C or D after a clean-looking run is normal early on. The letter rank is not a pure judgment of rhythm skill: your lineup, upgrades, outfit effect and activated skills also contribute to the score.
Separate three outcomes
1. You fail before the song ends
This is mainly a survival and input problem. Lower the difficulty, calibrate timing, reduce distractions and consider cards with life recovery or judgment support while learning.
2. You clear, but with many GOOD, BAD or MISS judgments
Practice the chart first. Team investment cannot repair unreadable patterns or audio delay. Use one familiar song to tune note speed and timing before comparing scores.
3. You clear reliably, but the letter rank remains low
Now inspect the RPG layer: member levels, card upgrades, leader outfit effect, Holomem Board bonuses, Memory and skill conditions. Community players consistently report that a fresh level-one formation can receive a low rank even when the player completes the chart.
Upgrade one stable formation first
Do not spread scarce materials across every card because its rarity looks attractive. Choose one leader/outfit direction, place five members that satisfy as many visible conditions as practical, and raise that group evenly enough that no slot is dramatically behind.
Then run the same song and difficulty again. A controlled comparison tells you more than switching the song, difficulty and team at the same time.
Accuracy still matters
Team power raises scoring potential; it does not make every tap correct. Better judgments, fewer combo breaks and successful skill conditions work together. That is why two players with the same cards can finish with different scores, while one player can improve rank after upgrading the same formation without suddenly becoming better at tapping.
What we do not claim
No official public formula currently explains the exact conversion from Performance, Technique and Sense to final Live Score. We therefore do not publish invented thresholds, score multipliers or guaranteed rank tables. Treat precise community formulas as provisional until they can be reproduced across multiple teams and songs.
Next steps: build a first team, then learn the Holomem Board colors.
